Thank you for pulling that part out - it’s one of those things that sounds simple, but feels very different when you actually experience it.
That moment of naming what’s going on… I’ve had times where it didn’t change the situation at all, but it changed how stuck I felt in it. Just enough space to not be completely pulled under.
And I like that you mentioned experiencing it yourself. That’s really where it becomes real - not just an idea, but something you can come back to in the middle of an ordinary day.
That “one click at a time” is still how it feels for me too. Small shifts, but they add up.
I needed this today as I could feel myself getting aggrivated just thinking of how much I had to do & feeling overwhelmed . I loved the radio analogy of just tuning the station , it was simple & something I would do on a real radio if I didn't like the music . Which makes this feel like a real & easier intention to make in daily life , instead of something that I felt was too convoluted to make a it a habit . Thank you for sharing & it changed my mindset today , not to be so hard on myself & go into negative thoughts ,I feel much better now .Thank you .
I really get this - that moment where your mind starts listing everything at once and your body tightens before you’ve even begun. I’ve been there more times than I can count.
I love how you connected it to the actual act of tuning a radio. That’s exactly how I think about it too - not forcing a whole mindset shift, just a small adjustment when you notice the “station” isn’t helping you. Sometimes for me it’s as simple as pausing, taking one breath, and asking “is this the channel I want to stay on right now?”
And I’m really glad it helped you soften things a bit today. That part matters more than getting everything done perfectly. Not being so hard on yourself changes the whole experience of the day, even if the to-do list stays the same.
I've also found that leaving my mind open to possibilities has greatly shifted my outlook. Just because we wish for something and it doesn't happen that way, doesn't mean it didn't happen in a way you may have actually missed. The things I hope for more often than not, do not happen in the way I thought they had to occur in order to meet my request. They rarely happen at the time I thought I needed them to and the answers come thru in answers to different questions I realized were quietly more important but applied to both. Be patient and keep an open mind. It will come but it's rarely in the context or time frame you'd set. But they come.
This is such a thoughtful reflection… and it fits beautifully with the idea of “retuning” the mind.
What you’re describing feels like a shift from trying to control the signal to learning how to receive it. When we loosen our grip on how and when things should happen, we create space to notice what’s actually unfolding… often in ways that are quieter, but more aligned than we expected.
I really appreciate your point about answers showing up through different questions. That’s such a powerful insight. Sometimes it’s not that life isn’t responding.. it’s that it’s responding to something deeper than what we initially asked for.
Patience and openness aren’t always easy, especially when we’re attached to a specific outcome or timing. But like you said, when we stay receptive, things do tend to come together… just not always in the format we had in mind.
Thank you for sharing this perspective… it adds a lot of depth to the conversation.
This is a thoughtful piece. Alexandra and I also like your analogy of the radio. Our mind does indeed come to believe what we tell it consistently for good or ill for benefit or harm. And the good part about that is we can use that to enable change bit by bit slowly slowly.
This is why Tantric meditation and kundalini raising work in the Buddhist and Hindu traditions. You create powerful visualisations and move into them.
I appreciate this - especially the way you pointed out how the mind starts to believe what we repeat to it over time. That’s really the part I keep coming back to as well. It’s not one big shift, it’s what we keep tuning into, again and again, even in small ways.
And I hear what you’re saying about those traditions. The idea of working with attention and imagery to gradually shift your inner state makes a lot of sense. I tend to approach it in a more simple, everyday way - just noticing where my mind is landing and gently adjusting it - but it’s all pointing in a similar direction.
That slow, bit-by-bit change you mentioned feels the most real to me. It’s not dramatic, but it actually sticks.
This of course is why the drip feed of disinformation in our current society is so dangerous. I think you have to be very careful what information you've put into your mind. People say you are what you eat in a physical sense - the molecules in your body change every seven years or so at least most of them. We are in a constant state of flux, although we have this illusion of continuity.
I think the same applies to our mental state, our mental continuum.
The ideas and information we hold construct us in a deep way and it's good to be mindful of that to enable change. And also to be deeply careful about the ideas and concepts and beliefs that we allow entry into our mental continuum.
You’ve left me a lot of food for thought. I should probably start to look at life in a different way. Raise my frequency, tune into a different station, and be more optimistic. It would probably help me to be less reactive to a world that I really don’t like.
I hear you… and my advice is this… even though we have crazy people controlling the world… NO ONE can control your mind. That is the one and ONLY thing you are in full control.
From what I hear about the MKUltra experiments and the technology they have, like 5/6G. mind control is possible. Dr Bryan Ardis was saying they’re able to make people have suicidal thoughts.
Many whistleblowers are saying that the nanotechnology they put in the jabs (which I didn’t have) and spray into the sky and put into our food and medicines, are to connect us to the internet of everything. Graphene oxide, for example, makes us more conductive to the frequencies they beam out everywhere. I actually believe they have the power and technology to control our minds. But I’m not convinced it’s going to happen because I’m not totally convinced the Satanists are going to win. Of course, I could be wrong and only time will tell…
These beliefs you have can become true for you ... take care. Move the dial and retune to a healthier frequency. The words we say and beliefs we have can shape our lives and experiences. This I take to be part of Alexandra's message here,
I enjoyed reading about the distinction between awareness and control in your essay Alexandra.
You are not asking people to manufacture positivity. You are asking them to notice what is already running in the background. That reframe matters because most people treat their emotional baseline as fixed when it is actually a pattern that was learned and can be shifted.
The radio metaphor is effective because it removes the shame from the process. You are not broken for being tuned to the wrong station. You simply have not been taught that the dial is yours to move.
I write about something similar in the context of leadership. The internal state a leader operates from shapes everything they build, often before they are conscious of it. Your framing here gives that idea a language that is accessible and grounded.
I really appreciate this way of putting it. That idea of “what’s already running in the background” feels so true - most of the time I don’t even notice it until something throws me off and then I realize how automatic it all is.
And I like how you connected it to leadership. I’ve seen that too - how much gets shaped before anything is said out loud. It’s subtle, but it shows up everywhere.
This is so beautifully written, Alexandra. I love that radio analogy; it makes something that can feel really abstract feel so simple and real. And I really love how you clarified it’s not about forcing positivity. I actually wrote about something similar in my book, how our mind starts to believe what we consistently tell it, and how our outer world often reflects what’s going on inside us. You explained that in such a clear, grounded way here.
This means a lot, Andrea - thank you. I’m really glad the radio analogy resonates the way it did. That was exactly what I was trying to get at - something that feels invisible until suddenly you can hear it clearly.
And yes, that distinction matters so much to me too. Not forcing positivity, just paying attention to what we’re actually feeding our mind day after day. I love that you’ve explored something similar in your book. There’s something very real about how our inner world keeps showing up in the way we move through life. ❤️
“Real returning starts with honesty.”
“Because the moment you name your state, you stop being swallowed by it.
You become the observer, not the prisoner.
And from there, you can shift.
Not by pretending.
By choosing a slightly better feeling thought.
A slightly softer interpretation.
A slightly more empowered action.
That’s how the dial moves.
One click at a time”
Loved what you wrote here and I’ve experienced the truth of what you are saying. Thank you for sharing so thoroughly.

From what I learnt, only if you are part of MK program or in some how under their control.

Great piece Alexandra. I've noticed the older I get the more I start listening to the crap I tell myself about myself and the world in general lol.
lol you are not alone. I am pretty sure you are in good company 😆
Oddly comforting somehow knowing I'm not alone. 😆
