You have covered a topic that most persons would go through their daily lives and never consider. But the truth is, it is not something one will ever want to imagine though they are real probing question.
Alexandra, I appreciate that you don't try to turn every loss into a beautiful lesson. Some things hurt, and nothing can make them fair. But I do believe we can discover parts of ourselves we never knew existed when life forces us to begin again. Perhaps what matters isn't whether we chose those experiences, but what we choose to do afterward.
Yes… I think that distinction matters so much. We don’t have to pretend that everything happens for a reason, or that every painful experience has some beautiful lesson attached to it. Some things are simply painful and unfair.
But I do believe that starting again can reveal parts of us that might never have had the chance to emerge otherwise. Sometimes we discover strength, resilience or even a different direction only because life has forced us to look at ourselves differently.
And I really like what you said about what we choose afterward. We may not have chosen the loss, but we can sometimes have a choice in what we build from where we are. ❤️
As the lyrics of “Amazing Grace” go. ‘I once was lost, but now I found”. You can be immensely successful, liked< even loved by family and still feel fake n empty. With nowhere to focus but out for whatever reasons.
Look at family’s or famous people. Robin Williams. Chris Cornell.
Granted, medical problems may had exacerbated a need to take their life.
Some, just crash n burn. Drug or alcohol abuse or addictions.
They try to get back up, but can’t.
Whitney Houston, & her daughter. Choosing a similar path of exit.
We have laws of defining victimization. Unfortunately, these are getting lost in wash of gaslighting, culture etc.
To thy self be true. Humanity isn’t very kind to justifying when you’re ‘broken’. But stolidly still standing to life n living.
The homeless or prison reformed are exemplified to this (provided the system or circumstances are not setting the person on a course of self destruction - again )
It’s why programs have probation - with some of the more talented being given another opportunity to start over.
Yes, I think that’s an important part of the conversation around losing everything and starting again. From the outside, someone can have success, love, family, money and everything that looks like a “good life”, while internally feeling completely disconnected from it.
And I think the examples you mention show how complicated that can become. We can’t know everything that someone was carrying privately, and mental or physical health, addiction, circumstances and so many other factors can intersect in ways we may never fully understand.
For me, that’s also why I’m careful about saying that loss or suffering happens for a particular reason. Sometimes we don’t get to choose what breaks us. What we can sometimes choose is whether, with the right support, we try to find a way to begin again - it’s an important one. ❤️
Sometimes, we lose ourselves in the dynamics of the only self control we have is losing all and placing faith in the truth to keep active to that as a foundation instead of acts of destruction or violence against the person or persons who are trying to destroy you by falseness or things of half truths to outright lies as we see in our system of discourse in politics to standpoints, issues n beliefs
I think there’s something very powerful in what you’re saying about choosing not to respond to destruction with more destruction. Sometimes losing everything can leave us with very little control over what happens around us, but we can still choose what we stand on and how we move forward.
For me, truth can become that foundation - especially when there are so many half-truths, assumptions and outright lies around us. It doesn’t mean we won’t feel anger or hurt, but perhaps we don’t have to let those feelings decide what we do next. Thank you for bringing this perspective into the conversation. ❤️
As our figures in history have been. I think the most poignant of these in an example was Jesus in life n crucifixion.
Many many trials in those who had followed also in observance of it after the resurrection. Course, even God, n religion strays from truths as to the intent n purpose as its being puppetized n proactively objectified for manipulation by propaganda purposes,
Similarly for all we see going on in the wars being fueled by faiths or based as justified as such.
This is trickling down into socio political matters of defining how we are viewed by beliefs or living n theocracies, autocracy, authoritarian etc.
people who are subjected to war n oppression sometimes have little else but to stand by their justification to the environment , the system. Things are definitely very complex in these matters of millenniums ongoing.

Anyways, we all have had or having trials to various degrees and we also are surrounded by we have goin on around us as well.
I shall bow out as I’m full up in my own, I don’t want to dominate the conversation. Be well, thanks
