There are moments that seem too ordinary to remember.
You lock the front door and head to work the same way you always do. You pass the same houses, wait at the same crossing, nod to the same neighbour walking their dog. Someone asks how you are, and before you’ve even thought about it, you’ve answered, “I’m fine.”
By lunchtime, you’ve already forgotten most of the morning.
By evening, the whole day feels like it slipped through your hands without asking permission.
If someone asked you what you actually noticed today, the answer might take longer than expected.
Not because life was empty. But because your attention was somewhere else.
Perhaps that’s true for more of our lives than we realise.
