Sometimes, when I subscribe someone on a whim, something like this happens. What a lovely read on a typical German day mid-May, sunny, but windy and significally colder than the rest, while climate change makes us stay safe from night frost. Maybe even better slightly off-season, when the weather behaves like it must have in February, so I heard of. There are more places I'd like to see than money and time to do so... what a pity. Amazing!

I fell in love with Barcelona in February. It felt like a city set to my soul's vibration... it called to me, resonated with me, felt like the city I was made for. I only had a week there, and I plan on coming back. I hope it turns out to be a lifelong love affair.

I know exactly what you mean by that feeling - when a place just clicks without you having to explain why.

Barcelona can do that. There’s something in the pace, the light, even the way people move through the day that either lands for you or doesn’t… and when it does, it stays with you.

Some places really do seem to change with us.

Or maybe they simply reveal different layers depending on who arrives there. I liked the quiet attention in this piece, especially the way the city became less a destination and more a rhythm to move inside for a while.

I like that - “revealing different layers depending on who arrives.”

That’s exactly how it started to feel for me over time. The city didn’t change in any obvious way, but what I noticed, what I paused for, even how I moved through it… that shifted.

And I’m glad the rhythm part came through. That was the strongest feeling this time - less about seeing everything, more about slipping into the pace of it for a while.

It made the whole experience quieter, but somehow more real.
