Thank you for this, Alexandra. I’ve been thinking about trying yoga for a while now, but oddly enough, I’ve always found myself resistant to it. I think part of that is because I know myself (I’m not great at sticking with anything that feels like “exercise.” 😂). I also live in a small town without many good classes nearby, and while I know there are tons of options online, I’ve never really known where to begin.

You’ve inspired me to look into it a little more seriously and finally give it a go! ❤️

Thank you! ❤️ And I completely understand the resistance to anything that feels like “exercise” 😂

Maybe that’s also why yoga can be such a nice way in - it doesn’t have to feel like another workout you have to force yourself to do. You can start with 10-15 minutes, at home, and focus more on how you feel afterwards than on doing everything perfectly.

And honestly, having limited classes nearby doesn’t have to be a disadvantage. There are some wonderful online practices now, so you can explore different styles and teachers until you find something that feels like you.

Try, Travis Eliot - Inner Dimension. I love him and his wife.

I’m really happy I’ve encouraged you to give it a proper try. Start small… and let the practice grow from there. 🌿❤️

Thank you for the suggestion. I'm going to go look him up and bookmark him. Maybe I'll even pull out my mat today... I purchased a mat, oh, I don't know, a year and a half ago, fully intending to give it a go when another friend suggested Adrienne on YouTube... yeah, the mat has yet to be used! 😕😆

Get the mat out!! Get the mat out!!! Get the mat out!!! 😆 we believe in you and in your yoga’s new chapter 😆❤️

Lol! I'm going to. My family was out and about yesterday, and I told my husband that my friend Alexandra inspired me to pull out the mat and dust it off!

Amazing :) let me know how you feel and which style you like the most.

I will!

Adrienne is super great too. She is more slow paced. Travis Eliot is more into Vinyasa power yoga and Yin. You can watch both and see which one fits your style. Or you can do both.

I'll give them both a try and see which suits me better. I will likely end up doing both, either alternating or sticking with one for a while and then switching. When I was learning qigong, I did that with different instructors.

This was such an informative read. I have approached yoga a few times in my life but haven't consistently done it for several years now. I should get back to it. Thank you.

Thank you! I'm glad you found it informative.

Maybe your body is reminding you that it's time to return to it... 😊 You don't have to start with a big commitment either. Even a few minutes of movement, breathing, or a simple yoga practice can be enough to reconnect with it.

Sometimes coming back to something we once enjoyed feels surprisingly natural. I hope you give it another try! 🌿

Thank you so much for sharing this. That genuinely makes me smile. ❤️

After 25 years of practising in a studio, I can imagine how meaningful it must feel to discover a practice that you can carry with you wherever life takes you.

And what an exciting new chapter - moving to Europe and having a yoga practice that feels truly yours, rather than something tied to a particular place or routine. Where do you move?

That's one of the things I love most about yoga... eventually, it becomes less about the studio and more about the relationship you build with yourself.

I'm so happy the piece helped you find a structure that feels like "you". Wishing you a beautiful move and a wonderful new chapter. 🙏🌿 Namaste.
